The IELTS test doesn’t have many requirements; almost anyone can take it! All you need is

  • to be at least 16 years old.
  • And you also need to have a valid passport.

Here are some ways that you can be a good candidate for IELTS:

  • Be open to learn: Start your IELTS preparation course with an open mind. You need to focus on the skills you lack and look for a solution to improve yourself.
  • Time management: Before starting your course, be sure that you have enough time for the sessions as well as time to study and prepare. This will be easy if you manage your time well.
  • Surround yourself with English: Try to make it so you use English on a daily basis. This way, English will come easy to you and you won’t have to take time out of the test to switch your brain to English or translate in your head.

Once you have been accepted onto the IELTS exam you are obliged to pay a deposit in order to reserve your place. The remaining fees must be paid 2 weeks prior to the exam date.

In the case of cancellation four weeks or more before the course starting date, 20% of our total fee will be retained. With less than two weeks’ notice, 50% of our total fee will be retained. If cancellation occurs in the final ten days before the starting date our total fee will be retained.

However, in certain exceptional circumstances we will consider transferring the fees to another course.

In the event of a course being cancelled all fees will be refunded.

NOTE Once the course has started, there is no possible refund. For this reason, you might consider taking out an insurance policy in order to be covered in case anything happen and you needed to leave the course.

If the course is delayed or prevented by Force Majeure, then Reach Out Academy shall NOT be liable for a refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re allowed to take only pens, pencils and erasers with you, as well as the passport or identity card which you used on the IELTS application.

  • The speaking test takes 11-14 minutes and consists of an interview with an examiner.

A variety of accents can be used during the tests. This is because IELTS is an international test.

We recommend you write all your Reading and Listening answers in capitals, so it is clear for the examiner. However, in Computer-delivered IELTS handwriting is not an issue, so you should try to write all words using upper and lower case.

IELTS band scores are reported on a 9-band scale ranging from band 1 to band 9. Each part of the test is awarded a band score for performance. 

It depends on what you’d like to get out of the test. The IELTS Academic test is intended for those who wish to study in university for higher education, while the IELTS General Training test is for the ones who migrate to an English-speaking country and work there.


Both types of tests are graded by a 9 band score. For each section of the test, you’ll receive a score from 1 to 9. You’ll also receive an overall score from 1 to 9 on the whole test.
