What are the course's overall aims?
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
Convey, elicit, and check new language effectively.
Plan lessons considering aims and learners’ needs.
Differentiate the 4 written assignments and their rubrics.
Present new language items in various ways and skills.
Create productive skills lessons to enhance students' sub-skills.
Understand CELTA requirements, key terms, and interview processes.
Analyse lessons, focusing on meaning, form, and pronunciation.
Design receptive skills lessons to enhance students' sub-skills.
What is the course content?
Written Assignments:
By the end of the course, participants will be familiar with the four written assignments required. They will understand the evaluation rubric for each assignment and review samples to guide their work.
Presenting New Language:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify methods to analyse and present new language items. The focus will be on meaning, form, and pronunciation, with techniques to convey, elicit, and check new language items effectively.
Language analysis:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to describe the features of a specific language item, including meaning, pronunciation, and form (MPF).
Lesson Planning:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design lessons that consider both aims and learners' needs. The course will cover various lesson planning frameworks and distinguish between main aims and sub-aims.
Planning Receptive Skills Lessons:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design a receptive skills lesson. They will learn to identify and develop various receptive sub-skills.
Planning Productive Skills Lessons:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to design productive skills lessons, considering aims, learners’ needs, and delayed error correction. The session will also cover key sub-skills for planning and delivering these lessons.
Assessing Coursebook Materials:
By the end of the course, participants will assess and choose or design textbook materials to meet lesson aims. They’ll also learn how to build on earlier lessons they taught and evaluate course books to select suitable tasks for teaching plans.
How will course participants be assessed?
Course participants will be assessed based on their participation, teaching practice, and reflection on the readings. By the end of the 50 hours, course participants will receive a certificate of achievement from IH Cairo.
What does the course timetable look like?
The CELTA Application Process: the interview and related tasks:
This course spans 6 weeks, with two sessions each week. By the end of this course, participants will understand CELTA requirements, key terms, and the interview process. They will learn how to apply for the course, meet acceptance criteria, and review pre-selection tasks and interview questions.

All applicants should possess:
- An English proficiency level equivalent to B2 or higher.
- Strong language awareness with advanced writing and speaking skills.
- An educational background that qualifies for higher education entry in their country.
Interested applicants should complete the form on our website. They’ll then be contacted for an interview (online or face-to-face) where there will be a timed writing task and an evaluation.
All applicants should have an English proficiency level equivalent to B2 or higher.
Should possess strong language awareness, particularly in writing and speaking skills.
Must have an educational background that qualifies for higher education entry in their country.

Exclusive Rate for Egypt: 7000 EGP
- Cash payment at International House Cairo.
- Credit or Debit Card payments in GBP, USD, or EGP at International House Cairo.
In the case of cancellation:
- Four weeks or more before the course start date:
20% of the course fee is retained and 80% is refunded.
- Less than two weeks’ notice: 50% of the course fee is retained and 50% is refunded.
- Within the final ten days before the start date: Total course fee is retained.
Exceptions may allow fees to be transferred to another course.Â
If the course is cancelled, all fees will be refunded.
Note: Once the course begins, no refunds are possible. Consider taking out an insurance policy for unexpected circumstances.Â
If the course is delayed or prevented by Force Majeure, then Reach Out Academy shall NOT be liable for a refund.Â
