IELTS Preparation
This 30-hour IELTS preparation course is designed to help students effectively prepare for the IELTS exam and achieve their desired band score.
The course will cover all four sections of the IELTS test – Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking – and provide comprehensive strategies, practice, and feedback to ensure students are well-equipped to succeed on test day.
Course Objectives
By the end of this 30-hour IELTS preparation course, students will be able to:
- Understand the IELTS exam format and assessment criteria.
- Explain the structure and components of the Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking sections of the IELTS exam.
- Identify the key skills and strategies required to perform well in each section.
- Understand how the IELTS exam is scored and the band score requirements for their desired outcome.
- Develop effective listening and note-taking skills.
- Recognize different accent varieties and speaking styles in the Listening section.
- Apply strategies to improve comprehension, such as identifying key words, main ideas, and specific details.
- Practice effective note-taking techniques to organize information and answer questions accurately.
- Enhance reading comprehension and efficient text navigation:
- Identify and understand different question types in the Reading section.
- Develop skimming and scanning techniques to quickly locate relevant information in texts.
- Apply effective reading strategies to understand academic and general interest passages.
- Strengthen written communication and task fulfillment:
- Understand the requirements and assessment criteria for the IELTS Writing tasks (Task 1 and Task 2).
- Practice organizing and structuring written responses to effectively communicate ideas and arguments.
- Develop vocabulary, grammar, and coherence to produce well-written, task-appropriate responses.
- Improve spoken fluency, accuracy, and interactive communication:
- Gain confidence in speaking English fluently and accurately for the IELTS Speaking test.
- Practice responding to different speaking tasks, including interviews, cue card discussions, and two-way conversations.
- Receive feedback and guidance to enhance pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication skills.
- Develop exam-taking strategies and time management skills:
- Learn techniques to manage time effectively during the IELTS exam.

Listening
- Understand different English accents and speaking styles

Reading

Writing
- Understand the requirements and assessment criteria for IELTS Writing Task 1 (describing visual data)
and Task 2 (essay writing) - Practice organizing and structuring written responses with clear introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions
- Develop vocabulary, grammar, and cohesive devices to improve overall writing quality
- Learn techniques to effectively communicate ideas, present arguments, and support opinions
- Receive feedback and guidance to improve written communication skills

Writing Task 1 (Academic):

Listening

Question types: Students will practice identifying and responding to various question formats in the listening test.
Note-taking: Students will develop their note-taking skills to effectively capture key information during the listening tasks
Speaking
Speaking Part 1:
- Speaking preparation: Students will learn how to prepare for the speaking test and practice common topics.
- Vocabulary: Students will expand their vocabulary to discuss a variety of topics fluently.
- Grammar: Students will review and practice using correct grammatical structures in their spoken responses.
- Fluency: Students will work on developing their fluency and confidence in speaking.
- Pronunciation: Students will receive guidance on improving their pronunciation and clarity of speech.
Speaking Part 2 and 3:
- Time management: Students will learn how to manage their time effectively during the longer speaking tasks.
- Planning what to say: Students will practice planning and organizing their responses to the speaking prompts.
- Fluency features: Students will continue to work on maintaining fluency and coherence in their longer responses.
- Discussion flow: Students will learn how to engage in a natural, flowing discussion with the examiner.
Course info
You need an intermediate level (B1) in English at least to apply for this course.
We test you to make sure you are B1+ through Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT). This course will prepare you for the IELTS exam by practicing your English skills and enhancing your abilities in each skill.
Additionally, you’ll learn some other skills besides the English ones. One of these is time management as you need to be precise in the time you need for every question, because if you take too much time on a question you’ll not catch up the others or you’ll solve them in a rush. And as we know, rushing in the answers isn’t great.
Your English skills need to be at B1 level or higher so that you have the basics of the English skills that we can build on and enhance to reach the level of the IELTS exam.
You also need to demonstrate the ability to learn more, whether in the English skills or other skills like analyzing questions and managing time.
Once you have been accepted onto the IELTS course you are obliged to pay a deposit in order to reserve your place. The remaining fees must be paid 2 weeks prior to the course starting.
You can pay your deposit and full fees as follows:

However, in certain exceptional circumstances we will consider transferring the fees to another course.
In the event of a course being cancelled all fees will be refunded.
NOTE Once the course has started, there is no possible refund. For this reason, you might consider taking out an insurance policy in order to be covered in case anything happen and you needed to leave the course.
If the course is delayed or prevented by Force Majeure, then Reach Out Academy shall NOT be liable for a refund.
