What are some of the challenges teachers face with different age groups?
Different cultures and backgrounds, previous education and influence of their mother tongue.
What observations have you made regarding non-native English speakers’ grammar and the influence of their mother tongue?
They have a limited knowledge of grammar rules and the pronunciation of the sentences usually comes with wrong stressed syllables and wrong intonations.
What sets the CELTA course apart from other TEFL qualifications?
The CELTA is very intensive and prepares the teachers well. It has a huge influence on the teacher’s way in teaching as it changes all his beliefs that he/she had before the CELTA
What were the biggest challenges you encountered, and how did you overcome them?
That I had to change every methodology I used to use before the CELTA. By listening to my tutors’ advices and feedbacks.
What have you learned from your experience, and how has it affected you professionally?
That teaching is not only helping the students to pass the exams, but also to motivate them and improve their skills.
What motivates you to keep striving for success, and what are your future aspirations and goals?
I want to learn more and apply what I have learned during the course in my classes.
What advice would you give to others pursuing similar goals or aspirations?
To be patient and always listen to advices.
