Brief about me

First of all, my name is Mariam, and I have been a kindergarten English teacher since 2019. My main goal is to teach higher grades before becoming a curriculum monitor, so I completed the CELTA course to prepare for the DELTA and pass it, particularly the part of curriculum design.

What motivated you to pursue a career in English Language Teaching?
I decided to become a teacher in order to try to change the lives of children and perhaps inspire in them with the same enthusiasm and interest in my field as I do.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?
The relationship between instructors and learners is my favourite aspect. However, it is believed that teachers may influence students’ lives and enable them to interact with others through the use of a language other than their mother tongue.

How are our roles as teachers evolving?
Today’s teachers serve as guides for students as they travel the path of learning, empowering them to be the best versions of themselves. Teachers elicit  the answers, challenge students’ thinking, stretch their abilities, give learning tools, and create a psychologically secure and comfortable learning atmosphere.Although the internet and technology helps the teacher to deliver the informations easily and creatively.

What are some of the challenges teachers face with different age groups?
Understanding the students’ individual differences is the most challenging thing that faces the teacher while teaching. it requires different leaning styles and lots of patience to meet the students need during the course or the academic year.

What sets the CELTA course apart from other TEFL qualifications?
CELTA is designed specifically for adults. it’s a creative teaching methodology to teach English for non-native speakers including writing ,reading ,listening and grammar.

What were the biggest challenges you encountered, and how did you overcome them?
One of the main difficulties throughout sessions was managing the time.I overcame this with lesson planning and timer use.

What have you learned from your experience, and how has it affected you professionally?
I learned a lot of ways of how to teach grammar and writing easier and how to set an effective speaking and listening tasks with a clear communicative goal. Anticipate the problems that might face the students in the lessons was life-changing methodology for me. Understanding each English learner’s linguistic challenges had a positive effect on the learning process.

What motivates you to keep striving for success, and what are your future aspirations and goals?
The progress that I passed through during the course by the tutors positive comments and how I changed and start to understand different teaching styles. focusing on each detail in English as a language.View object records
